What To Expect

I’VE NEVER DONE VIXEN BEFORE. WHAT IS IT ALL ABOUT?

VXN® (formerly known as the Vixen Workout) is a performance inspired dance fitness + lifestyle brand focused on improving the physical & mental wellness of women. Movement is choreographed with both physical fitness and artistic value in mind to give participants the visceral experience of performing on stage resembling “commercial choreography” (Movement seen in concerts, music videos, Live TV). VXN is physical, cognitive, and emotional, it is a vehicle for a person to cope with stress and become motivated and invigorated to achieve goals for wellbeing.

VXN Workout is perfectly suited for all levels! Most ladies say it takes about 3 classes to start really getting the moves down (but they are hooked on the experience from day one). Feel like you wanna just get your toes wet before jumping right into a class? Ask me about options for a Vixen 101 classes or schedule an orientation session.

WHAT SHOULD I WEAR/BRING TO CLASS?

We encourage you to wear your hair down, your favorite lipstick, and an outfit that makes you feel like you’re rehearsing for your own concert.  Wait…did they just say hair down and makeup to workout?!  YUP!  We want you to get into character, and by “character” we mean tapping into your inner Rihanna, Beyonce, or J-Lo. For your first class we recommend black leggings and a comfortable tank or muscle tee.  Feel free to wrap a flannel around your waist for extra movement on those Thigh Shakes.  For footwear, we recommend wearing athletic sneakers but if you’re feeling a little bold try some athletic sneaker wedges. Lastly, a towel and water bottle is always a great idea to bring with.

WHAT SHOULD I EXPECT ONCE I ARRIVE?

We encourage you to arrive at least 10 minutes early. If it’s your first class, you’ll be greeted by your instructor and asked to fill out a quick liability waiver. Once you enter the studio remember to warm up, stretch, take a few deep breaths, and do whatever you gotta do to get in your Vixen zone and ready for showtime. After class photos and selfies are a encouraged… remember to hashtag #VIXENARMY

HOW DO I SIGN UP FOR CLASSES?

No registration is required. For your very first class please be sure to arrive at least 15 minutes early though to sign a quick liability waiver and pay. HOW MANY CALORIES SHOULD I EXPECT TO BURN?

You can expect to burn anywhere from 400-1000 calories

WHAT IF I’M PREGNANT?

Yes with a doctor’s approval. Many of our Vixens, do Vixen Workout right up until they give birth. We believe as women, labor and becoming a mom require a significant amount of power, endurance and energy. Therefore, by continuing to stay active, you can better prepare your mind and body for what’s to come.

IS VIXEN FOR ME? BUT I HAVE TWO LEFT FEET…

Beyonce did not wake up Flawless….JK maybe she did but Vixen is for anyone who puts their mind to it, and if your super scared come check out a Vixen 101 session first. Our age range varies from 18 all the way to 60. As long as you have a love to move, you will fit right in.

WHERE ARE CLASSES HELD AT?

Classes are usually held at a PVT studio at 605 Monterrey Terrace, McHenry, IL 60050. Workshops & Special Events are sometimes held at other locations, information is posted as new classes come available.
